Lacking the confidence to go braless in a see-through dress, I will not be attending the awards ceremony.

Afraid that my attempts to be clever will cost me followers, I will not be live tweeting what I watch on TV.

Bored by almost everything that is broadcast, and distracted by chores and tasks that I have left undone during the day, I will not be watching TV anyway.

What if someone is a liar, someone who loves you? What are you going to do about it? (Honesty being overrated and hard to define or measure.)

Two boys build a raft, and two girls lie on the riverbank and whisper to each other about the boys.
Smoldering inside the girls are little baby-making bombs, already hissing, already lit.

Why do people often feel bad in good environments and good in bad environments?

Why do people often feel so bad in good environments that they prefer bad environments?

Why is it that a man riding a good commuter train from Larchmont to New York, whose needs and drives are satisfied, who has a good home, loving wife and family, good job, who has unprecedented “cultural and recreational facilities,” often feels bad without knowing why.
